The Houthis, officially Ansar Allah, are a Yemeni political and armed movement originating in the 1990s. They control large parts of Yemen, including the capital Sanaa. Used as a resistance force against the Yemeni government and Saudi-led coalition, their primary beneficiaries are Zaydi Shia communities seeking political influence and regional autonomy.
